On the most magical nights of the year, it’s showtime. On Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, and on January 6, join us for the Grand Illusion, a mesmerising spectacle that illuminates our marquee.
The feast of Christmas never stops. As the sun rises over the warm sea, Tasting Table serves a 200-platter extravaganza of Chinese dim sum, Danish pastries, and festive cookies. The feast continues through 11 food and beverage destinations. Sample Maldivian seafood around the Mirror Pool or a fine wine pairing at the cellar venue, The Rock. In the early evening, find a waterside table at Glow, where experimental cocktails are served by a resident mixologist, as a watermelon sunset frames our tropical island.

That’s just an appetizer. Every single night, a bespoke Christmas menu is served at top restaurants like contemporary izakaya outpost Zuma, Li Long, and The Ledge by Michelin-starred chef Dave Pynt. The latter venue hosts two barefoot barbecues, where local lobster and Wagyu beef are grilled on the beach, plus a nightly seasonal menu. On Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi, expect once-in-a-lifetime every day.

By taking the stress out of seasonal planning, we hope to give guests a rest. The only difficult debate will be where to go for lunch. Our spa has a hundred rejuvenating therapies, from hydrotherapy to deep tissue massage. This festive season, we welcome two visiting practitioners for treatments in acupressure, sound therapy and chakra energisation. For other guests, gazing at the Indian Ocean from their private wooden deck is a therapy in itself.

Even Santa will visit the Maldives. On 25 December and 6 January, following the eastern tradition, Santa will arrive on the sugar-soft sand of Nava Beach with a sackful of presents. We hope you treat yourself to a stay at Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi. The greatest gift this Christmas will be to start the new year in top gear.
